Nicole Arbour Talked About Her "Dear Fat People" Video On 'The View' & She Isn't Sorry About It

On Wednesday’s episode of The View, YouTube comedian Nicole Arbour spoke out about her viral video “Dear Fat People.” The video received an intense amount of backlash online, prompting YouTubers to make their own videos in response to the body shaming.

Arbour has refused to apologize for the video, which briefly got her kicked off YouTube. In her interview, she again stood by her comments, saying “That video was made to offend people…The whole thing was a joke.”
“I’m a comic, so if I’m going to do a joke about a fat person, I’m going to say I’m fat first,” show co-host Joy Behar said. “You’re not fat. That’s the problem…You sort of hide behind this, ‘Well it’s not healthy…That’s bull and you know it. You don’t care about their health.”
While the audience erupted in applause at Behar’s comments, Arbour responded that she did care about the issue.
“I do care about people’s health,” she said. “But the whole thing was a joke and I make fun of myself all the time. I think we’ve all got to make jokes about everybody.”
