Binge Watching 'Grey's Anatomy' Is Actually Making You A Better Person

There’s no longer a need to feel bad about yourself when Netflix asks if you’re still watching. Just yell at Netflix (like always), but now you can say, “Yeah Netflix, I am still watching and it’s making me an amazing person.”
A recent study published by Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts found that watching hard-hitting, award-winnning dramas makes you a better person than those who don’t. This means that if you watch emotional dramas like Grey’s Anatomy and Lost, you are actually more empathetic. We shouldn’t really be shocked by this though – we’ve all cried along with the cast of these shows for years.
This was tested by dividing participants into two groups and one would watch fictional dramas, while the other would non-fiction documentaries. After they were done watching, they were given an emotional intelligence test. Each time, any participants who watched dramas scored higher than those who watched documentaries like “Nova.”
If you want to start being a nicer person, you should start watching more dramas and less Kardashians.
