Tumblr artist simonbaz has created brand new Disney stories. They still star the princesses we know and love, but this time, they’re falling in love with each other.
Mulan & Belle

In an accompanying Tumblr post, the artist imagined Mulan would visit Belle’s village, see her reading all by herself, and feel drawn to her because she is also an outcast. Mulan makes the first move and Belle is attracted to her as well but doesn’t know what to make of those feelings. Mulan gets out her old warrior armor and dresses up as her male alter ego, Ping, and marches over there to woo her. Belle realizes she’s attracted to both Ping and Mulan which really confuses her. Finally, Mulan reveals herself to be Ping, but tells Belle she can continue being a man so that they can be together, which is when Belle finally confesses that she loves Mulan for Mulan.
Nani and Ariel

The accompanying Tumblr post takes us to Hawaii. One day, Ariel swims up to shore and sees Nani surfing. Intrigued by Nani’s control of the ocean, Ariel comes back every day to watch. One day, Nani gets a leg cramp and falls into the water, but Ariel rescues her and carries her back to shore. They become close friends and struggle with their attraction for one another. Finding their separation unbearable, Ariel goes to Ursula and asks for a pair of legs, which the sea witch grants her in exchange for her voice. To seal the deal, Ariel needs a kiss from her one true love. When Nani sees Ariel hobbling around on her new legs, she’s overcome with emotion and immediately kisses her.
Meg and Esmeralda

According to the artist’s accompanying Tumblr story, Meg and Esmeralda are drawn to each other because both of them have seen the worst in humanity. Meg’s cynicism belies the fact that she’s secretly a romantic looking for someone to restore her faith in love, which Esmeralda gives her because she still believes in the good of people in spite of everything. Meg would trust Esemralda because she’s so upfront about who she is, and would get the security she craves by being with such an emotionally and physically strong woman. In turn, Esmeralda would love the complexity of Meg’s personality.
