We’ve been not-so-low key jamming out to Demi Lovato’s new album Confident since it was released in mid-October, but one band finally got around to listening and they’re not thrilled about the track “Stars.” In fact, Sleigh Bells is straight up accusing Demi of lifting the rhythm from two of their songs.

In a tweet that calls out Demi directly, the band wrote, “Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythm for ’Stars’ but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those.”

Twitter erupted with loyal Demi fans defending the songstress while some people though Sleigh Bells, comprised of vocalist Alexis Krauss and guitarist Derek Edward Miller, kind of had a point.

Put on your detective hats.

Here are Sleigh Bell’s tracks for your listening (and sleuthing) pleasure.

And here’s Demi’s new track.

This could raise a few eyebrows for sure, but is anything truly one-of-a-kind anymore? Just this weekend, Taylor Swift was sued for stealing lyrics to her hit “Shake It Off.”

Thoughts? Did Demi heavily borrow from Sleigh Bells for her track?
