Donald Trump on SNL: 'Hotline Bling' Dance, Angry Protesters & More

Last night Donald Trump hosted Saturday Night Live… and, considering the ironic hilarity that ensues anytime Trump takes the stage, obviously him performing on a platform that is actually supposed to be funny (for once) was guaranteed entertainment.
However, many people were not on board with Trump hosting SNL. Angry protestors stood outside the studio with signs that read things like “SNL LOVES RACISTS.” Apparently, the group DeportRacism.com offered $5,000 to anyone who disrupted Trump’s gig to call him a racist.

The interruption did happen, but it was probably planned. Larry David, who was there playing Bernie Sanders during the cold opening of the show, shouted,” Trump’s a racist!” during Trump’s opening monologue.
“I heard if I yelled that, they’d give me $5,000,” said David. To which Trump replied, “As a businessman, I can respect that.”
“A lot of people are saying, ‘Donald, you’re the most amazing guy,'” Trump began his monologue. “‘You’re brilliant. You’re handsome. You’re rich…The world is waiting for you to be president, so why are you hosting Saturday Night Live?’  And the answer is that I really have nothing better to do.”
About O’Donnell, who Trump has long since had a feud with, “joked” that “[O’Donnell] said some things about me that were hurtful and untrue. I said things about her that were mean but completely accurate.”

In reference to the SNL actors who have impersonated him on the show over the years, Trump said the main difference between he and them was that they “don’t have my talent, my money, or especially my good looks.”

Surely, however, of all the skits the one that will be sent most often around the internet will be Trump dancing to Drake‘s “Hotline Bling” video. Since debuting the video, Drake has been featured in countless Vines, memes and jokes for his dancing in it.

And it looks like Trump made a strategic move (yet again) by making sure he is also one of what will probably be the most popular GIFs of the year.

Another noteworthy sketch was when Trump live tweets.

This isn’t Trump’s first rodeo at Saturday Night Live, either. He’s no rookie, and he took advantage of the opportunity to point that out by saying that he realizes “over the years many greats have hosted… like me in 2004.”
Stay humble, Trump.
