The man arrested for allegedly posting threats against University of Missouri students and staff on Tuesday evening has been identified as 19-year-old Hunter Park. Park is NOT a student at Mizzou but at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, according to online profiles. He studies computer science and mathematics while working on a grant in bio-medical imaging.
Park graduated high school in 2014 in nearby Lake Saint Louis, Missouri.
He was arrested in the town of Rolla, which is two hours from the University of Missouri, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to online records, Park is being held at Boone County Jail in Missouri. He was held on $4,500 bond.
“Park was contacted in Rolla, Mo. by the University of Missouri Police and transported to the University of Missouri Police Department in Columbia where he was arrested and processed,” the school’s police said in a statement. “Additional information cannot be released due to the investigative nature of the report.”

Park allegedly posted an anonymous threat on social media app Yik Yak warning students to stay away from campus. It seems he then posted a more direct threat that read, “I’m going to stand my ground tomorrow and shoot every black person I see.”
Over the past week, the Mizzou campus has been full of tension. President Tim Wolfe resigned following his handling of race-driven incidents and students on campus have been continuing to protest in support of #ConcernedStudent1950.
