Photos with Santa are a yearly event in many households. Kids travel to the mall, anxiously preparing what they’re going to tell Santa they want for Christmas and practicing their best “I’ve been good all year” face.
For some of us, the tradition carries until you’re 23, when it’s only slightly weird to be the tallest person in line (including parents) but so worth it to get a holiday pic with the big guy himself.
The photos are usually pretty standard, even when a gaggle of frat boys decide to take a pic for a holiday card. Everyone either smiles and looks at the camera…or a baby cries their head off while parents mourn another year of lackluster Christmas photos.
That is until a mall Santa in Evansville, Indiana got creative.
Donnie and Kelli Walters decided to take their 6-month-old son, Zeke, to meet St. Nick. They found out Santa was on a break when they arrived, but they fed the baby while they waited. By the time they got in line, Zeke started to get sleepy. Instead of waking him up for what would surely result in one of those hilarious (to everyone except the parents) crying photos, Santa said to let the little guy nap.
Donnie’s Daddy Daycare, stay-at-home dad’s account, uploaded a series of Christmas photos with the caption, “I can’t believe how adorable our son’s pictures with Santa came out. After falling asleep in line waiting, Santa asked us not to wake him and the outcome was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
See the cute pics below.
When the family traveled back to the mall to tell Santa Claus how touched everyone has been by these special photos, and as luck would have it, baby Zeke fell asleep again. Of course, this resulted in yet another adorable photo.
Oh, Zeke. Your future girlfriend is going to love when your parents pull out these photos.
