I’m the first to admit that Scream Queens was my guilty pleasure this fall, and lucky for me, it’s coming back for another reason. Fox made the official announcement that there will be a second season of the horror-comedy at the 2016 Winter TCA Press Tour on Friday.
But say goodbye to the Kappa Kappa Tau house and college campus setting. And maybe some other things as well…
Apparently, the new season will again be a “terrifyingly funny murdery mystery,” but the network revealed season two will be set in a hospital, where “some most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.”
Which brings us to another question…will Emma Roberts reprise her perfect role as Kappa Queen, Chanel Oberlin? It’s hard to picture the sorority girl hanging around a hospital (besides the psych ward where she landed at the end of season one).
Turns out, the network is keeping their mouths shut about which cast members will be returning…if any. Fox boss Dana Walden told reporters, “Ryan intends to bring some of the actors back from the first installment. I believe they will be in the same characters.” Doesn’t sound very reassuring to us.
The Scream Queens cast that made it out alive from season one (which was a pretty low count, actually) included Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Oliver Hudson, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, Keke Palmer, and Skyler Samuels.
If Chanel isn’t back, we can all agree that’s the true crime of this series.
