Valentine’s Day is a joke. I always thought it was because I was single, but now it’s year number two with a boyfriend and I still roll my eyes when I see entire Target aisles decked out in red and pink hearts. And God help me if I see one more engagement ring pop up on my newsfeed.
Many girls expect their boyfriends to go all out on February 14 – I’m talking a card, flowers, a dinner reservation at a lavish restaurant, and a romantic night complete with chocolate covered strawberries. It can add up…fast.
But as college students or recent grads, who has the money to spare for that?
With a little creativity, there are plenty of free or cheap ways to celebrate V-day that are just as fun and romantic as a candlelit dinner. After all, love don’t cost a thing (right, J. Lo?).
