Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend, Austin Butler, are reported to be under criminal investigation for defacing rocks in Arizona. The couple spent Valentine’s Day weekend in Coconino National Forest in Sedona, Arizona, where they posted a photo of their names in a heart that was carved into a rock formation on Instagram. According to E! Online, the police were informed of the image and begun investigating the matter. The photo has since been deleted.
Because it is currently an ongoing investigation, no charges have been filed against Hudgens or Butler.
It is illegal to damage or deface rocks in the Red Rock Ranger District in Coconino National Forest. As a result, Hudgens and her boyfriend could face a demeanor. If found guilty by a judge, Hudgens and her boyfriend could face a fine up to $5,000 or six months in jail.
Despite the legal drama, the couple seems to have had a really lovely Valentine’s Day weekend. That’s what’s important, right?
