Chrissy Teigen Admits To The Controversial Decision Of Choosing Her Baby’s Gender

I think we can all agree that Chrissy Teigen is one of the most relatable people on social media. Sure she’s a hot model, rich AF, and married to a hot dude, but she’s also hilarious.

Yet she just dropped a controversial bomb that will definitely have the Twittersphere abuzz and maybe cause her to lose a few of those 5.3 million Instagram followers. Not that it really matters, tbh.

In an exclusive interview with People, the cookbook author admits to choosing a daughter. “I’ve made this decision,” Teigen said. “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’

Oh boy. Er, girl.

Teigen has been open about undergoing in vitro fertilization and even gave herself injections during her Sport Illustrated swimsuit photoshoot. However, gender selection is not something everyone agrees with.

“Children are the issue of our love, not the product of our wills,” the members of the President’s Council on Bioethics said about gender selection in a recent report to ABC News.

She continued to explain that she did this for her hubby of two years, John Legend.

“I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me,” she explains. “It excited me to see … just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along. We’ll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa — it’s crazy!”

Teigen, 30, says that there’s something about a girl that brings out the best in a father: “How soft they get, how mushy, and excited they get. It’s so cute,” she says.
