Gwyneth Paltrow Voluntarily Got Stung By Bees In The Name Of Beauty

We all know that Gwyneth Paltrow will go to extreme lengths for beauty, including drinking a $200 smoothie every morning and detoxes. However, voluntarily getting stung by bees has to be the craziest treatment we’ve ever heard of.

The actress/founder of the website Goop recently she shared her beauty secrets with the New York Times, but this is one procedure we won’t be adding to our spa day. After explaining that she’ll do just about anything in the name of looking perfect, she talked about the insane practice of apitherapy.

“I’ve been stung by bees,” Gwyneth shared. “People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful.”

Well, yes, you are getting stung by bees. You know? Those things that most people run away from.

Huffington Post even found some people, who are either geniuses or total frauds, who say it heals illnesses.

Wang Menglin, a bee acupuncturist who works in a clinic in Beijing, claims to have “treated patients with dozens of diseases, from arthritis to cancer, all with positive results.” But he added that it is used to tackle “most common diseases in the lower limbs.” Multiple studies have tested the efficacy of this terrifying beauty treatment, but there’s insufficient scientific evidence that it actually works.

Given that Gwyneth Paltrow is 43 with the skin of a 10 year old and the body of a 21-year-old yoga instructor, you have to assume that some of her extreme measures work. As for me? I’ll pass.
