Tinder is good for many things. A little confidence boost from strangers telling you you’re beautiful, a way to pass the time at work, finding someone to dig out your car…the possibilities are endless. Unfortunately, there are some delusional losers and creeps who ruin it for everyone.
Takara Allen went out on a date with one such dude from Tinder. They continued talking after the date and everything seemed fine until the guy made a totally disgusting and rude remark.
He texted Takara, “Don’t think I’m a creep and I don’t wanna be offensive or anything but I was just looking [at] your insta photos and just curious, but have you ever thought about bleaching your skin?? You’d look so much prettier if you were whiter!”
Obviously, Takara was in disbelief. But the 22-year-old Australian pulled herself together to clap back with a fiery (and totally true) response.
“Have you ever considered drinking bleach because the world would be so much prettier if you did,” she wrote, complete with a peace sign emoji.
“I was so in shock that someone would ever send that to me that I actually started crying out of frustration. I’ve never had anyone suggest that I bleach my skin before,” Takara told Daily Mail Online. “In most cultures being ‘paler’ or ‘white’ allows that individual to be treated better due to systematic racism and we are taught from a young age that being ‘whiter’ makes us more desirable and attractive.”
Takara made the smart move of blocking the guy immediately after sending her response. “He doesn’t deserve the chance to apologize for that,” she said. “It’s unacceptable.”
She also took to Facebook with a well-deserved rant about the horrible statement.
And totally crazy, because Takara is beyond gorgeous just as she is.
Tinder has removed the man who made the comment to Takara from the app.
