Between being a mother of two, heading a billion-dollar brand, and being a modern style icon, it’s amazing that Jessica Alba even has time to eat. But that’s not her secret to staying so fit. The actress spoke to Cosmopolitan about her diet, and it turns out Jessica loves to indulge in a good plate of nachos and make her daughters special meals for birthdays. Get a glimpse into Jessica’s daily diet below.

When it’s a special occasion like a birthday, it calls for breakfast in bed. For daughter Hazel’s birthday last summer, Jessica whipped up pancakes with a twist.

“I know they say you shouldn’t whisk pancake batter, but I do. I like to make them crepe-like. I make them out of gluten-free pancake mix, and I just thin out the batter with extra olive oil, egg and almond milk. Then, I whip it to death, and that makes really thin pancakes.”

“My favorite snacks are my kids’ favorite snacks, because they steal all of my food,” Jessica says. She usually has popcorn, hummus with cucumber, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, and cauliflower on hand, but nachos are her guilty pleasure snack food.

Supper usually consists of some veggies complete with Jessica’s homemade dressing.

“I try to always have a salad, and I always make my own salad dressing—it just tastes better,” she said. “I’ll often make a chicken quesadilla with corn tortillas—and gallons of hot sauce. Literally. It’s like I’m trying to burn a hole through my stomach. It’s so good. It’s such a problem.”

Actually, Jessica usually skips cakes, cookies, and ice cream.

“I’m not much of a sweets person,” she claims.

We bet her little girls, Honor and Haven, disagree.
