The South Korean convenience store chain, Withme FS, has launched the “Gyeondyo-bar,” an ice cream bar that is specifically made to cure hangover symptoms. The name translates to “hang in there.” You can view what the ice cream bar looks like below via Twitter.

The ice cream bar, which just started selling in stores on Friday, is grapefruit-flavored and contains .7 percent oriental raisin tree fruit juice. The fruit juice has been used in Asian hangover remedies in the past as it supposedly helps the liver process alcohol and can help detoxify the body in general.
A press release from the company claims that the ice cream is the first specifically produced to cure hangovers. It was also designed to “[express] the hardships of employees who have to suffer a working day after heavy drinking, as well as to provide comfort to those who have to come to work early after frequent nights of drinking.”
If that’s the whole reasoning behind this ice cream bar, I think there is going to be a mass exodus of college students to South Korea very soon.
It is currently unknown how much the ice cream bars cost or whether there are plans to export them outside of the country. But do you really care about that? I think a trip to South Korea is in order for everyone in order to get their hands on these magic hangover cures.
