If You’re In A Relationship, Apparently You Don’t Find Attractive People Attractive Anymore

When it comes to being in a relationship, you’re able to look at other attractive people who walk by, right? I’m a firm believer in the “you can look but you can’t touch” mantra. Yet recently, that hasn’t been the case.

Studies from New York University and Rutgers University found that people in relationships tend to not think that people they would usually find attractive are as attractive as when they were single. This is done unconsciously and is done to protect their relationships. It’s not that people do not think that others are attractive, it’s the thought of staying loyal to the person you are currently dating and see a potential future with.

Don’t get me wrong, there are still people out there who have absolutely no problem venturing out to multiple companions while they are in a relationship. (Ya’ll suck). However, more and more people are starting to avert their glancing in order to protect their relationships.

Apparently people aren’t as crappy as I thought. Way to go, society!
