One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles has officially confirmed a solo record deal with Columbia Records, the same team behind his One Direction success.
It looks like Styles is following closely behind former band member Zayn Malik‘s footsteps, after he announced leaving the band in March 2015. While Harry’s big news was released to Billboard on Thursday, no details or timeline of the album have been confirmed. This should not come as a huge shock to fans, as he’s been working on solo projects since the band announced their hiatus for this year. He’s been filming Dunkirk, a Christopher Nolan World War II film.
Fans of One Direction and Harry Styles have taken to speaking out on Twitter about this, concerned that this means the end of One Direction for good. Twitter users have began the hashtag #1DStayWithUs in order to carry on the conversation of hope that their favorite boy band will some day be back.
Harry Styles just broke my heart.
