Dani Mathers, the former Playboy model who Snapchatted a photo of a naked woman at the gym with the caption, “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either,” is now facing a criminal investigation, according to TMZ.
The website reports that after LA Fitness went to the police on Friday and filed the report over Mathers’ degrading Snapchat, they are now investigating the situation based on a criminal law that prohibits the dissemination of private images.
The woman in the image has not come forward, but if she does, Mathers could face up to six months in jail. If the woman does not, the case will probably be dropped.
TMZ reports that Mathers is currently being punished by Playboy. Playboy has suspended her from all Playmate activities, which includes her show on Playboy Radio.
It is awful that the woman ridiculed will have to identify herself in the public eye for this case to move forward. This is your friendly reminder to be a better human being in general and to cease your body-shaming.
