Stephen Colbert Crashes Republican National Convention to Film “Hungry For Power Games”

Although the Republican National Convention has barely started, Stephen Colbert has already been kicked out. On Sunday, the day before the convention starts, The Late Show host crashed the stage in Cleveland in order to film for one of his sketches that covers the event. Colbert, dressed as Caesar Flickermann from The Hunger Games, deemed the RNC as the “Hungry for Power Games” which sounds like something we would definitely watch.

Colbert was filmed on stage speaking into the mic with his extravagant costume by one of the audience members. He captures the spirit of The Hunger Games by explaining how presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump has “formed an alliance with former Indiana governor, Mike Pence.” As RNC security approaches, the star announces in true Flickermann style “It is my honor to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games!”

As he’s being unwillingly led off the stage, Colbert managed in a snarky “Look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here, but let’s be honest, neither is Donald Trump.” Burrrnnnn.

Colbert will be covering the Republican National Convention with live shows for four nights, partnering with Jon Stewart on Monday night. Next week, he will be covering the Democratic National Convention in a similar fashion. I don’t know about you but watching The Late Show With Stephen Colbert sounds way better than watching the RNC. Stay tuned folks, and may the debates be ever in your favor.

Here is the final filmed segment The Late Show aired about the RNC. Colbert is pretty ruthless and it’s absolutely amazing. See for yourself:
