It’s about time!
Michael Phelps’ fiancee Nicole Johnson has opened up about the couple’s wedding plans to Access Hollywood in Rio. On Friday, she revealed that their nuptials might happen sooner than initially imagined.
“We have a date,” Johnson, who was joined by Phelps’ mother, Debbie, said. “It’ll be small and intimate for the wedding and then we’re throwing a massive bash for everyone in the States.”
Johnson, who also gave birth to the couple’s first son, Boomer, three months ago, added, “We’re kinda getting things rolling. I’ve been planning as we’ve been leading up to [the Olympics].”
“So I think I have the wedding in order and now it’s on to the party for the fun,” she finished.
Johnson, who was former Miss California, and Phelps got engaged back in February 2016 after dating on-and-off since 2007. The two split in late 2011, but rekindled their relationship back in 2014.
She additionally said that Phelps has already taken to his role as a father. His mother, Debbie, echoed that statement, saying, “He talks about [how] he wants to be just the best dad he possibly could be.”
In short, you could say that Phelps is going for gold in being the perfect family man.
