The recent VMAs just announced which music videos are 2016’s best. But a blast from the 2014 past is back, and selling his award on eBay. You might remember Miley Cyrus‘s unexpected date from the 2014 VMAs: a hot but homeless man named Jesse Helt, whom she brought with her to raise awareness about youth homelessness. Helt is selling the VMAs award for Video of the Year on eBay for a lot of money.
According to the listing, the trophy is in “mint condition,” is “very rare one of a kind” and has “no fingerprints.” It has the names of both Helt and Cyrus engraved on it. He’s set the starting bid at $10,000, but those who don’t enjoy the stressful bidding process can just buy it for $15,000. TMZ reports that Helt recently moved into a studio apartment in Los Angeles and is expecting a baby soon, which could account for the super high price. However, Helt’s asking price isn’t that unusual; Coolio once sold the Moonman he had won for “Gangsta’s Paradise” for $6,000, and the trophy for “We Are the World” previously sold for $72,000.
