Someone recently data mined the latest version of the insanely popular mobile app, Pokémon Go, and they have a discovered something that is pretty damn exciting.
The new feature, which is expected to debut in an upcoming patch (or update), is called the “Buddy System” and we think it’s totally going to revive the Pokémon Go craze that has died down somewhat since the game launched just a few months ago. With the update, you’ll be able to choose a specific Pokémon (we’re going straight for our Pikachu) and “bond” with it. Practically speaking, you’ll choose your favorite Pokémon and train it by making it your “buddy,” meaning you’ll walk around the game with it and be awarded candy.
Pokémon Go Hub has acquired a list of the features you can expect to obtain with the “Buddy System” update and they are pretty incredible:
Pokémon Buddy System is using the same distance calculation as the one used for hatching Pokémon Eggs.
Walking your Pokémon Buddy will award you with candy. The amount of candy is yet to be determined.
You can walk the same Pokémon Buddy multiple times, but there is most likely going to be a daily limit for obtained candy
This is SO epic. We can’t wait to walk alongside our favorite Pokémon in the new update.
