Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston officially called it quits earlier this week, but the drama (as expected) continues. After only dating for three months, the couple’s demise went viral Wednesday, with claims that the split was “amicable.” But come on, this is Taylor Swift we’re talking about — a serial dater who’s made a name for herself for trashing her exes in full albums. Can that really be trusted? We’re going with no, especially considering Hiddleston is apparently the one who cut the cord.
According to the Daily Mail, friends close to the 35-year-old actor said that he decided to break things off with Swift because he had grown “tired of her.” Apparently the Thor star is known to leave women after three months. How charming!
“The reports are wide of the mark and come as news to all Tom’s friends,” a theatre producer who worked with the the actor said. “He grew tired of Taylor, it wasn’t the other way round.”
Naturally, Swifties aren’t having it. Initially rumors surfaced that Swift did the breaking up after Hiddleston allegedly demanded she walk the Emmys red carpet with him in hopes of presumably boosting his career (as if their very public relationship didn’t already do that). But friends close to the actor say differently.
“Tom drifted from her and it had nothing to do with her being put off by the publicity,” they said. “It’s more to do with the fact he’s a commitment-phobe who gets bored very easily.” Welp, I’ve heard that one before.
A source reportedly close to Swift told Us Weekly, “Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up. I think she feels a little embarrassed that the whole world saw them so serious and now it’s over.”
According to the publication, the two were also struggling with maintaining a long-distance relationship. In other news, we still can’t believe they dated in the first place. Can she get back together with Calvin Harris now?
