We’ve all received incorrect orders before. Sometimes you’re missing an ingredient or three or there’s something weird about the sauce or they forget to give you the guac you paid extra for. No matter how badly your food was screwed up, no one can top Domino’s because they accidentally sent one of their customers thousands of dollars of cold, hard cash instead of her food. Casual mistake, right?
Selena Avalos from San Jose, California, decided to order Domino’s chicken wings for lunch. When she received her takeout, Avalos found the box to be unusually heavy and initially thought they must have accidentally sent her breadsticks. She then opened the box to find literal wads of cash adding up to nearly $5,000, which is one of the few things that might be better than getting free accidental breadsticks. According to ABC7 News, it was supposed to go to the bank, but somehow made its way to Avalos’ box.

But Avalos is a better person than I’ll ever hope to be and immediately called her local Domino’s to explain what she found. She was told she would get a call back right away. But three days passed with no word from the company, confusing both Avalos and everyone else involved. However, she was determined to return the money and got in touch with Domino’s franchise owner.
“I can’t keep it, it’s a crazy amount of money,” she told ABC7 News. “It’s not like it’s twenty dollars that you find, you know? It’s almost 5,000 dollars.” Besides some amazing karma, Avalos’ employer is giving her a paid week off from work. AND she also received a year’s worth of free pizza from Domino’s for being an awesome human being.
Being good pays off sometimes! Though we’re still wondering how some unknown Domino’s employee screwed up that majorly…
