Demi Lovato Officially Has Beef With Taylor Swift (Again)

Taylor Swift Demi Lovato Feud

It’s official: Taylor Swift‘s latest feud has begun thanks to Demi Lovato, who just slammed the popular pop singer in the press. Sticking up for her friend Katy Perry, Lovato used a recent interview to pick on Swift — along with her friends Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss — for using her “Bad Blood” music video to reference her feud with Katy Perry. Yes, she’s two years too late, but apparently Lovato has a hard time letting things go.

According to the 24-year-old singer, Swift is the living embodiment of anti-feminism. “I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment.”

She then went on to trash the abundance of “skinny women” in the music video, claiming Swift inadvertently gave fans an unhealthy idea on what they should look like. “This will probably get me in trouble, but I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body,” she told Yahoo. “It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like.”

Ummm Demi, what about the girls who actually do relate to those body types and do look like that? Do you ever think about them? Or are you just talking to hear yourself talk? If it’s the latter, it definitely wouldn’t be the first time.

Lovato first started throwing shade in February with a string of tweets bashing Swift for being a fake feminist and for donating $250k to Kesha‘s legal defense after she alleged she was sexually assaulted instead of doing something “more substantial.”

“Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed,” she wrote. Swifties were after her not long after. A Taylor Swift Instagram fan account accused Lovato of taking attention away from the real issue by bringing a “new rivalry” between the two stars to light. Lovato was less than enthused.

“How the f**k am I making this about myself? At least I’m talking about it,” she posted, getting embroiled in an argument with the fan moderator, inadvertently confirming in her rage her ‘unimpressed’ tweet was indeed referring to Taylor’s silent donation,” she responded. “Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and def haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak up about s*** that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7.”

She continued, “There’s no “rivalry” I just give more f**ks than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person.”

When the fan account hit back saying that Kesha’s mom publicly thanked Swift for her donation, Lovato responded with, “Didn’t shade Taylor. If you take it that way than fine. I’m just tired of seeing women use ‘women empowerment’ and ‘feminism’ to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations. I get shade and I don’t give a f**k because someone has to be the one to take it. At least I’m getting my hands dirty.”

Demi, really? Just because she didn’t respond the way you wanted her to doesn’t mean her efforts are irrelevant. For someone who wants to “build women up” you do a hell of a lot to tear them down.
