Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s divorce is official.
According to TMZ, both the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star and former NBA pro have signed their divorce documents, which include a property settlement and legal documents that were filed on Friday. All they need now to finalize the divorce is a signature from the judge.
Getting this divorce finalized has been a long process for the couple. Khloe originally filed for divorce in December of 2013, and while she tried to make the relationship work for a few years, she put things entirely on hold after Lamar almost fatally overdosed in Las Vegas last year. When it became clear that Lamar would survive the ordeal (despite his unwillingness to give up alcohol and drugs), and that there was little chance of saving their marriage, Khloe refiled this year.
According to California law, she has to wait six months from the time of filing to get a sign off from the judge, which can’t technically happen until December. So if all goes according to plan, Khloe and Lamar will officially be single by the new year. Although Khloe may not technically be single yet, she seems to be very much in love with her new NBA player boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
