A Gay Mike Pence Lookalike (AKA Our New Hero) Is Collecting Donations For LGBTQ Causes in New York City

Glen Pannell is a modern-day hero, not to mention a breath of political fresh air.

Pannell, a proud gay man who also happens to look like Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s long-lost twin, has been roaming the streets of New York City and collecting money for LGBTQ organizations, as well as other groups that support progressive causes.

The hilarious irony here is that Mike Pence is well known for exhibiting serious homophobia and even supporting gay conversion therapy. Pannell calls himself “Mike Hot-Pence” and has been seen around New York’s Times Square wearing short shorts (and Pence’s signature blazer and tie, of course) collecting funds. On raising money for LGTBQ youth charities, “Mike Hot-Pence” has also collected money for Planned Parenthood and the National Resources Defense Council, which can expect to face some serious challenges under Donald Trump’s administration.

He recently told the Huffington Post, “I want to raise dollars and I want to raise awareness. And maybe offer some hope too. Isn’t it nice to imagine a bizarre through-the-looking-glass alternate reality where there’s a Mike Pence who champions women’s health and LGBTQ rights and the environment? Well that’s me!”

Our hats go off to you, Glen Pannell. Thank you.

You can follow Pannell on Twitter @MikeHotPence, and we highly recommend that you do. Or if you happen to be in the New York City area, swing by Times Square and consider making a donation to one of those extremely important organizations.
