A Cookie Dough Café Is Opening Its Doors Tomorrow So Dreams Really Do Come True

I, a California resident, totally love living in California. We have access to some pretty great things, like Disneyland and beaches and Hollywood. And yes, it is just as gorgeous here as the movies say. But now, I’m seriously considering moving to New York. It has one crucial thing my state apparently does not: a cookie dough café.

, opening in NYC’s Greenwich Village, will be serving a variety of cookie-dough desserts that are safe to eat. If that sentence doesn’t summarize my childhood dream, I don’t know what will. Eating cookie dough is something many of us love but often feel bad about, because of the health risks and stomach aches raw cookie dough provides. This newfound café has worked around the many health concerns to make our favorite dessert guilt-free.

The most common of these fears is the uncooked egg, which can put consumers at risk for salmonella poisoning. But DŌ uses a safe-to-eat, pasteurized egg product in their recipes rather than raw eggs, according to its website. According to the FDA, raw flour can also be awful for your digestion; there are links between the ingredient and E. coli. DŌ has us covered on that too. They simply use a “heat-treated, ready-to-eat flour,” to keep our minds (and belly aches) at ease.

DŌ’s products come in a variety of mouth-watering flavors: Signature Chocolate Chip, Sugar Cookie, Fluffernutter, Gimme S’more and Peanut Butter Snickerdoodle, to name a few. For those who have allergies or dietary restrictions, most flavors can be made gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan! DŌ will serve other treats along the cookie dough, including baked cookies, cookie cake and cookie ice cream sandwiches. They even have Doggie DŌ for all your good dogs.

DŌ opens January 25th at 1pm in Greenwich village. So if you live in NY, eat a few desserts for the rest of us in this cookie-dough-café-less nation.
