This Man Has A Bionic Penis & He’s Pretty Damn Excited To Use It

Meet Andrew Wardle, a 40-year-old man who lived the majority of his life without a penis. As he revealed in the 2015 documentary The Man with No Penis, Wardle was born with bladder exstrophy, an extremely rare condition that resulted in his bladder forming outside of his body. While he was able to get corrective surgery for his bladder as a baby, the operation also preventing him from ever growing genitalia.

Wardle wasn’t bothered by the medical deformity as a child, but as soon as he became a teenager, he realized it would affect his love life. After he found out about Mohammad Abad, a British man who got a “bionic penis” after losing his in a childhood accident, Wardle decided to begin the same process. After getting more than 100 surgeries, Wardle finally got his very own bionic penis made from skin, muscle and nerve grafts from his left arm.

According to Vice, his penis is “fitted with cylinders that fill with fluid when pumped from a small sac installed in his ball sac, which is how he’ll get an erection.” The downside? In order to get the process going, doctors will essentially have to go in and turn it on, which will require a three day hospital stay and leave Wardle with a two-week long erection.

Holy Shit
Granted, that’s a small cost to pay in order to have a working penis. However, in an interview with The Morning, Wardle is not looking forward to the process and already plans to stay home until it’s over, but he is excited to finally be able to have sex with his girlfriend for the first time. We bet she’s pretty damn excited about it as well.
