Mischa Barton Net Worth 2018: How Much Is Mischa Worth Right Now?

We all remember and love Mischa Barton from her days as Marissa Cooper on The O.C., but how much money has she acquired since her stint on the hit television drama?

Born in 1986 in London, England, Mischa is a British-American actress, model and spokesperson who has been working professionally since she was barely nine years old. Mischa’s landed her very first role in the 1995 Off-Broadway production of Slavs! and earned rave reviews from critics, including The New York Times, which praised her “chillingly authoritative” performance. Mischa clearly showed talent and promise from an early age, which she eventually translated to a successful and lucrative career. But how have her recent personal and legal troubles affected her finances?

Mischa Barton’s Net Worth as of 2018: $3 Million

Let’s take a look at how The O.C. star acquired her wealth over the years.

1995-2002

Young Mischa Barton

Notting Hill

Although Barton is best known for her role as Marissa Cooper in The O.C., she actually broke into the acting world at a much younger age. Initially taking on small roles in movies and television—we bet you didn’t realize she played the 12-year-old actress in Notting Hill in 1999—Mischa made her first big break when she landed a spot on the soap opera All My Children for three seasons.

2003-2006

In the summer of 2003, Fox premiered the teen drama The O.C.—a series that followed the turbulent lives of the wealthy and affluent children that live in Orange County, California—and the show became an instant success. Mischa played Marissa Cooper and departed the show after its third-season finale in May 2006. While on the show, Mischa won a number of “Teen Choice Awards” and was named Glamour’s “The Next Big Thing.” She also nabbed a lucrative endorsement contract with Keds, acquiring the majority of her wealth and popularity during this period.

2006-2017

After her time on The O.C. came to an end, Mischa continued to appear in roles on television, film and even the stage, as well as in campaigns for Neutrogena cosmetics. However, she has also suffered personal, legal and financial setbacks since leaving the popular series, as well.  In 2009, she was charged with a DUI and driving without a valid license and in 2010 she was sued by her New York landlord for refusing to pay three months rent, which amounted to $21,000. In August 2015, Mischa sued her own mother for “breach of contract” and “theft” over a house they both own in Beverly Hills, California. In January 2017, she was found screaming on her backyard fence and voluntarily placed under a mental health evaluation at a Los Angeles hospital.

2018

After the five years restraining order on her ex-boyfriend and handling the release of her sex tape, Mischa Barton is finally able to concentrate on her acting career.
