The second season of E!’s dating series Famously Single hasn’t even aired yet, and we already have some drama. Audiences are already getting a kick out of the released promo, which Refinery29 describes as, “Keeping Up with the Kardashian (Malika Haqq) meets Jersey Shore (Ronnie Magro-Ortiz); The Bachelorette (Chad Johnson) meets Flavor of Love (Tiffany “New York” Pollard); and Dancing with the Stars (Karina Smirnoff) meets Rich Kids of Beverly Hills (Dorothy Wang).” That’s… a lot.
Season one brought eight celebrities together to work on their dating problems. Now, E! is doing it again with a brand new cast. The network hints at the prospective couples while filming, with the most noticeable relationship set for season two being Malika Haqq and Ronnie Magro-Ortiz. Despite sparks flying, the promo has Ronnie admitting that he still has feelings for Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola.
“Sam still has my heart,” Ronnie admits in the new promo. Malika later asks, “Are you really over her?” and leaves audiences hanging on every word as though it’s 2009 again. Who are we kidding? He’s probably not over her and won’t be for a while. Ronnie and Sammi shared a very intimate relationship and have been known for their hot and cold relationship since the early days of Jersey Shore.
Unfortunately we’re left with too many questions and no answers. We’ll just have to wait until the show premiers on Sunday, July 9. I’m sure the fans will be speculating wildly until then.
