It’s been a Bachelorette season of many firsts. ABC is diversifying its cast by making Rachel the first black bachelorette in the show’s history. ThenRachel prematurely announced that she was engaged while the first few episodes were airing. Rachel is no doubt one of the most intelligent leading ladies of the franchise. She proves she has brains, beauty and brawn, having majored in sports management and later becoming an attorney.
Her athleticism and sports background must’ve been what connected her to Kevin Durant, who she reportedly dated in college. According to Barstool, Durant, the current small forward for the Golden State Warriors, allegedly dated Rachel while the two were studying at the University of Texas-Austin. But, the two broke up amicably when Rachel left to study law at Marquette University in Wisconsin, probably because of the distance. Yes, Rachel, don’t stay for no man, even if it’s Kevin Durant.
What would’ve happened if Rachel brought in Kevin instead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to coach on last week’s episode?
Rachel has admitted that she’s always been more focused on her career and prioritized her relationships less. Well, looks like it worked for the both of them. Kevin Durant became Kevin Durant, and Rachel’s engaged. In an interview with Us, Rachel said, “I am very much so in love and very much so engaged! Every morning I wake up and pinch myself and I keep asking myself if this is really happening.” Maybe Kevin will be invited to the wedding?
The Bachelorette airs on Mondays on ABC.
