The public’s prayers have been answered! If you’re always texting, there are now even more ways to illustrate your messages.
New emojis will be making their way to phones with the latest installation of the message-based animations in 2017.
📥 Unicode 10.0 has been released with 8,518 new characters

Unicode Consortium, the geniuses that have blessed us with all of our emoji friends thus far, have added a total of 8,518 new characters in their latest update, 10.0. And boy, they did not disappoint.
The new update will feature everything from mermaids (and mermen) and wizards to zombies and even more amazing facial expressions for all of those (like me) that didn’t have quite a large enough selection.
There’s an emoji of a woman in a hijab as well as a breastfeeding mama and (unrelated) a dinosaur.
Can I get a hell yeah?
The only downside to this arsenal of precious characters is a bummer for iPhone folks.
Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait until the end of the year to finally get our hands (and phones) on these emojis.
According to Emojipedia, “Apple generally updates iOS with new emoji support in September-December each year.” This means that we’re gonna have to distract our minds from these magical, digital creatures to get us through the summer.
However, they’ll definitely be worth the wait. And considering the flood of fairies and monocle-wearing faces that my entire contact list is going to receive, maybe it’s best that we (and by we, I mean they) have some time to prepare.
Check out all of the new emojis in this adorable video.
Happy texting! We can’t wait to see what new memes come of these.
