Need your daily dose of Bachelor in Paradise news? This time we have some more information on the infamous Corinne Olympios. No one can forget the scandal that suspended the show. The only way that can make it better are some more juicy details.
An unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight that Corinne wasn’t just knocked out from a couple shots. Apparently she blacked out from mixing alcohol and prescription medication on set. Because of this dangerous cocktail combination, the source reported that Corrine wouldn’t be able to remember what happened afterwards.
“Corinne’s condition was exacerbated by the drinking and taking the prescribed medication,” the source claimed.
Even without the medication, other sources reported seeing Corrine drinking throughout the day. Drinking is fine and all, but to do it throughout the day without eating? Well, I shouldn’t be surprised considering how TV shows like The Bachelor thrive on drunken encounters. Then again I’m sure the producers didn’t count on contestants mixing alcohol and medication. They’re not that desperate for ratings.
If Entertainment Tonight‘s source was telling the truth, then it’s no surprise that Corrine passed out in the middle of filming. Too bad it happened when it did, though.
“While I never filed complaints or accusations against anyone associated with Bachelor in Paradise, my team and I felt it was very important to be thorough in getting to the bottom of what had occurred,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I felt victimized by the fact that others were judging me through conflicting and unsubstantiated reports, while I myself had no recollection of the events that transpired.”
If you’re not entirely familiar with the scandal that nearly cancelled the show, here’s the rundown. A producer on the show reported a complaint while filming Corinne and contestant DeMario Jackson hooking up. After further investigation, Warner Bros. reported allegations of misconduct. Corinne and DeMario also battled with dubious consent since the former was unable to recall that night due to her cocktail combination.
Despite issues and concerns about the possible cancellation, production and filming of Bachelor in Paradise resumed. Corinne and DeMario will not be returning as contestants, however they are scheduled to appear during the reunion special at the end of the season.
