National Ice Cream Cone Day is celebrated annually on September 22.
Ice cream is incredibly essential to a happy life. Because of its importance, ice cream has its own roster of holidays dedicated to its sweetest creations: ice cream sandwiches, hot fudge sundaes and today, the all-important ice cream cone. One of the earliest mentions of the ice cream cone appears in French cookbooks around 1825 and was originally called “little waffles.” The cone made its first debut at the World’s Fair in St. Louis in 1904, but wasn’t patented until 1912 and eventually sold to Nabisco in 1928. See, ice cream is educational.
So, how do you observe this historical and delicious holiday?
Obviously, you need to eat ice cream, but you can also celebrate with these hilarious jokes and memes. And don’t forget to check out your local ice cream shops to see how they’re celebrating. With free cones, perhaps?
You should probably start by watching this video of former VP Joe Biden dive into an ice cream cone.
Are you as excited as this baby yet?
Or this pig?
This could be you.
And just one ice cream cone won’t ruin your diet.
