Meet The New Hosts Of MTV’s ‘TRL’ Reboot

Ok, it’s time to get excited. MTV’s TRL is officially back!

The ultimate #TBT is arriving back on MTV on Monday, October 2.

After nearly ten years off air, MTV’s iconic Total Request Live is back and better than ever. For most ’90s kids, TRL was the central hub of pop culture. From 1998 to 2008, MTV’s Times Square studio was home to the music video show that rocked every television in the nation. On Monday, a new generation of pop culture and music lovers will finally have the TRL experience.

MTV is calling the revival “the prime destination for youth culture and a meeting point for millions of fans.” 2017 brings new music, new antics and most importantly, new hosts.

When the original TRL took the air, host Carson Daily was MTV’s it-man. Since then, Daily has juggled plenty of hats, including hosting The Voice. However, while Daily will always be the king of TRL, MTV has brought in multiple hosts and social media correspondents for the revival.

MTV TRL 2017 Hosts

The shows five new rotating hosts will be: Amy Pham, a DJ and actress; D.C. Young Fly, a rapper, comedian and actor best known for his time on MTV’s WildNOut; Erik Zachary, a KISS FM host; Lawrence Jackson, a journalist, actor and producer; and Tamara Dhia, a Complex writer, producer and host.

In addition to the hosts, the show will feature social media correspondents, including model and YouTuber, Gigi Gorgeous; Youtuber and musician, Gabbie Hanna; and YouTuber Eva Gutowski.

The star-studded hosting lineup isn’t the only thing big going for the show. MTV’s lined up some of the hottest celebrities for the first week including Ed Sheeran, Migos, Noah Cyrus, Demi Lovato, PRETTYMUCH, Playboi Carti, Lil Yachty, Why Don’t We, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott and Romeo Santos.

TRL airs on MTV, Monday, October 2 at 3:30 P.M. Make sure you’re watching!
