It doesn’t take much to want to be Saoirse Ronan’s best friend. Between her jaw-dropping Ladybird performance and her adorably awkward mannerisms, the 23-year-old actress manages to straddle the line between relatable and quirky — and she is never more endearing than when playing “Who’d You Rather” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I don’t know how to date,” she told Ellen, echoing all of our inner thoughts we’d never voice aloud. “I’m not into the whole ‘Let’s go out for dinner.'”
Still, despite her hesitancies, she agreed to play “Who’d You Rather,” a common staple on the show. While she did end up with a soulmate (Bruno Mars), she would be just as interested being his email correspondent as his date — which is indicative of the rest of her adorable answers.
Instead of choosing men based on looks alone, Ronan opted for practicality. She chose Timothée Chalamet over Colin Farrell because “Colin’s way older.” She continued to choose “Timmy” over Harry Styles, because “Harry’s on the road a lot.”
“You’re so bad at this game,” Ellen protested early on. “I feel like I’m talking to a 70 year old woman.”
