With the Super Bowl in Minneapolis tomorrow, it’s almost inevitable that Justin Timberlake will have a few nods to Prince in his half-time show. Still, the Internet isn’t at all convinced that should come in the form of a hologram.
TMZ reported Saturday (February 3) that while Janet Jackson and ‘NSYNC are not slated to perform, Timberlake is planning to perform with a Prince hologram in honor of the late star’s hometown.
Some people think the idea is amazing — but many on Twitter are less enthused, arguing that Prince would have had no urge to perform with Timberlake were he alive and that bringing him back as a hologram dishonors his memory.

lol we already know how Prince felt about the subject:
Prince in 1998: “That whole virtual reality thing… it really is demonic. And I am not a demon” https://t.co/KhjWxNmM9f

If this Prince-as-a-hologram story is real, all I want to see him do is come out, take a knee, and slowly vanish back into the ether.

Disrespectful ass Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl Halftime Show to feature a hologram of Prince- Even though Prince didn't like him, and Prince did an interview with Guitar World magazine in 1998 calling this type of act "demonic". pic.twitter.com/0HqLjHyOrB

Prince told me don’t ever let anyone do a hologram of me. Not cool if this happens! https://t.co/khtCjXr2mY
