Beyoncé and Jay-Z are well known for their contribution to the music industry. From a young age, Beyoncé was singing and performing in dancing competitions, in her hometown Houston. She soon rose to fame as the lead singer of the all-girl group Destiny’s Child.

Jay-Z had a rough start in life; having had his father walk out on his family when he was just 11-years-old. Being the youngest in the family, he soon discovered a passion for music, when his mom bought him a boom box for his birthday.

Due to the success of Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé decided to embark on a solo career, with her debut single album Dangerously in Love. The album was inspired by soul and R&B genres. The album was a huge success, and she was soon crowned a solo star. During this time, Jay-Z was named the president of Def Jam Records, after allegedly announcing he was taking a break from the music industry.

2007 – 2012

Jay-Z and Beyoncé had already gained celebrity status and was both earning hella money. Beyoncé’s next album Sasha Fierce (an alter ego she assumes when she gets on stage) shot her to even more fame and fortune.

The platinum-selling album sold over 80,000,000 copies worldwide. Jay-Z however, was promoting music festivals such as the o2 Wireless Festival and The Hove Festival. During this time, he left Def Jam records, and he later signed a multi-million dollar pact with Live Nation.

2012 – Present

Welcome to the world Blue-Ivy! The Carter’s welcomed their first baby girl in January 2012. At the young age of six, she is already showing signs of being a diva. I don’t know where she gets it from.

In 2016, Beyoncé released her sixth best-selling album Lemonade. With her lyrics being intricate and subliminal, thus causing a lot of stir amongst the public and later assumed that Jay-Z had cheated on her.

The Carter’s later welcomed twins to the world in 2017, whom they named Rumi and Sir Carter.

Now the talented couple is going on tour again. What can’t they do?
