Last week on Riverdale it was family drama as Archie learned that his father was considering running for mayor of Riverdale after the Lodges considered him right for the job. Veronica decides to offer herself as Fred’s unofficial intern, in helping him get signatures as well as campaign logos. Archie being the excellent and overprotective son that he decides to try to stop his father from falling into the Lodge’s semi-illegal trap, and turned to Jughead to help him expose any secrets of the family using Jughead’s journalism skills. Letting him in on the secret that the Lodges didn’t just donate to Pop’s diner, but they had bought the diner themselves.
Over on the Cooper household, Hal asks Alice for a divorce, offering her half of the purchase of Riverdale’s newspaper the Register, only if she immediately agrees, not even mentioning the will that he and his children who are Blossom related could be in. Adding to the family drama, Polly decides to show up with her twins, which Chic is annoyed by and seems somewhat angered by the presence of his family members.
Speaking of the Blossom family, what was supposed to be a regular reading of a will turned into as usual a wild night for Cheryl. Clifford Blossom decided to divide his assets into two, half for anyone who has a drop of Blossom in their blood, and the other half to Jason and Cheryl. After Cheryl made a grand speech about how from now on there will be no more blood spilled on her family’s behalf, her father who is supposed to be dead walks in causing Cheryl to faint, later learning that this man is her father’s twin, Claudius. I guess now we know how twins run in the family.
This week on Riverdale Cheryl is frightened of her own home and is too scared to stay there. The tension’s between Archie and Fred begin to take a toll on their household including on the relationship with Archie’s mom. Veronica continues to fix all the problems her mom and dad have caused in Riverdale while dealing with how other people see her due to her dark parents. In the Cooper home, Betty begins to frighten her brother with her odd behavior and anger. Andy Cohen also makes an appearance this week on the hit show as Hermoine’s friend and voicing his support for her mayoral run.
