Taylor Swift gifted Amber Rose’s son Sebastian with VIP tickets to her “Reputation” tour this week — and as further evidence that this is The Bad Place, trolls took it as an opportunity to provide unsolicited commentary on the five-year-old’s sexuality.
A slew of people posted comments on Rose’s Instagram calling her son “gay” for enjoying the pop artist, and on Wednesday the model clapped back, slamming the trolls dictating her son’s sexuality and music taste.
“Shout out out to all the hyper masculine men and ignorant dumb ass women that will call a five-year-old gay for liking Taylor Swift,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “This is why young kids kill themselves. And this is also why our society is so f—ked up. Liking a certain type of music will not make you ‘pick’ your sexuality you dumb f—k.”
She went on to brag about her son a little (okay, a lot), sharing his attributes: “P.S. my son just got accepted into the most prestigious private school in Los Angeles because he’s smart as f—k and creative as f—k like his parents. He also has more money in his bank account than any of you trolls could ever imagine Lol.”
Her closing message is an important one: Rose urged her followers to “do better for the next generation” grow up, and “teach [your] kids to love and not hate.”
Rose is both dismissing the notion that our society ought to adhere to rigid gender roles and the harmful assumption that music taste has any connection with sexuality.
“Regardless if he’s gay or straight when he gets older he will be around the most amazing loving people that will support him no matter what,” she closed.
