Beyonce and Jay-Z tied the knot a decade ago, but the two of them have been together for much longer than that. The two met when Beyonce was only 18 years old and was still part of Destiny’s Child.
After the two were friends for a year they started dating at the end of 2000 or 2001. She was 19 years old and he was 31-years-old or almost. The couples 12 year age gap has never been scrutinized like other couples have like Scott Disick and Sofia Richie.

After dating for a handful of years breakup rumors became circulating in 2005 because Jay-Z cheated on Beyonce. The rumor mill believed that Jay cheated with Rihanna, but some think it was just to create buzz about Rih.
After the rumors Beyonce released B’Day that had two songs about cheating. She had to release a statement saying “Ring The Alarm” wasn’t about Rihanna.
They continued to date and make music together and eventually got married April 4, 2008. The wedding was top-secret and only super close friends and family were invited. They didn’t confirm their marriage until September of that year.
They two have always been super private about their personal lives. In 2011 Beyonce confirmed she was pregnant at the VMAs, then a few months later on January 7, 2012, Blue Ivy was born.

There were whispers of Jay cheating with Rita Ora but she shut those down. The two continued to live on with their lives and Beyonce dropped her self-titled album.
In May 2014 footage leaked of Beyonce’s sister Solange attacking Jay-Z in an elevator at the Met Gala. She supposedly went off on him because he cheated on Beyonce. The family released a statement saying they worked through their issues, but nothing was confirmed of why the fight went down. Their first joint tour started that summer and naturally, divorce rumors started then.

Then in April 2016 Beyonce released Lemonade and confirms infidelity in their marriage and a lot of marital struggles they have had. Also, this album was a full visual album and released on HBO, something that has never been done before.

In June 2017 Jay-Z dropped his latest album 4:44 confirming his cheating ways, how he messed up and how him and Beyonce are stronger than ever. The same month their twins, Rumi and Sir were born.
Later in November 2017, Jay opened up to The New York Times Style Magazine about his marriage. “You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can’t see themselves,” he said. “The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself.”
Now the two are celebrating their 10 year anniversary and are going on tour again this upcoming summer.
