‘American Horror Story’ Creator Drops Bombshell Season 8 Reveal

American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has dropped some bombshell Season 8 secrets, including some superstar casting and the return of fan favorites as the fans ready for the latest installment of the beloved FX series.

Season eight has yet to begin filming, but during a roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan revealed some details about what fans can expect.

He remarked that legendary television actress Joan Collins will be joining the cast for Season 8 as Evan Peter’s grandmother.

Ryan also stated that he is interested in hiring movie superstar Anjelica Huston as well to help round out his cast.

The AHS showrunner revealed, “(We’re) talking. I love her.”

He previously revealed that Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates are returning for AHS season 8.

“I love doing things that scare me,” revealed Ryan to The Hollywood Reporter of his work on the series.

No other details are yet known.

“I’m still working on it,” he said. “And I don’t want to do anything unless I’m 100 percent sure.”

Ryan also remarked during a pre-Emmy voting ‘for your consideration’ event in Los Angeles that Evan Peters will play a comedic hair stylist.

“We shot Cult and it was very taxing on Evan, and around Thanksgiving, I was talking to Evan and he said, ‘You know this show is so hard, it’s so difficult to do’. So your part this year is a comedic part, you are comedic and you play a hairstylist,” revealed Ryan.

According to a story published by Deadline, the new season of American Horror Story will likely return to the fantasy realm after Season 7 dove into the current tempestuous political climate.

“It’s heightened,” he said of the season 8.

“It’s not necessarily as real and grounded as the past season. We’re sort of getting back to Asylum and Coven. That’s the tone of it.”

It’s also rumored the show will be called American Horror Story: Radioactive.

According to Ryan, the series will begin filming shortly.

“We start shooting Season 8 around June 16,” he said.
