MTV’s New Show Is A Staten Island Version of ‘Jersey Shore’

MTV is known for their wild reality television shows, and for their days as a music video channel, and right now they are planning to add more reality shows for their viewers. Due to the success of Jersey Shore, which has been bringing in 2.1 million viewers in its new season, MTV has decided to create a new reality show called Staten Island 10310 which will be just like the Jersey Shore except that it will take place in Staten Island. Funny enough a couple of cast members are from Staten Island, such as Vinny Guadagnino, and Angelina Pivarnick but they will not be a part of the new show.

Staten Island wasn’t chosen at random the MTV/VH1 president Chris McCarthy chose this location for specific reasons, such as learning about a whole new, different group of people. “In many ways, life on the island has such a different texture than the rest of New York, we get to see another side of these kids who are very scrappy.” He told Variety.

McCarthy continued saying, “MTV isn’t only focusing on the tri-state area for its fresh programming slate. “What’s happening in the middle of the country is so different than what’s happening on the coasts,” McCarthy pointed out. “We are always looking for interesting and authentic subcultures that give us a look at youth culture in this country.” One of these will be a new show called Made In Kentucky following a group of friends in the Appalachian Coal Country.

Will Jersey Shore Alum Angeling Pivarnick, who has referred to herself as the “Kim Kardashian of Staten Island” be joining? Seems unlikely as the 31-year-old has moved on from reality TV and is now currently working as an EMT. Those who remember, Pivarnick left the Jersey Shore twice after starting too much drama between the roommates. She will be making an appearance in Jersey Shore: Family Vacation this season, as was seen in the trailer for the hit shows reunion.

Staten Island 10310 premieres in August, and we can’t help but wonder if it is sort of like Beverly Hills 90210?

Will you watch the new show or will you stick to Jersey Shore?
