The Situation From ‘Jersey Shore’ Is Now Engaged

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has a brand new situation on his hands, marriage.

Sorrentino posted on his Instagram announcing his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Lauren Pesce. They had their engagement photos taken on a boardwalk in true Jersey Shore fashion.

Sorrentino proposed to Pesce while the cameras were rolling during Jersey Shore Family Vacation. “I have always dreamed of proposing on Jersey Shore, the show that introduced me to the world,” Sorrentino told Us Weekly. “I’m currently living the dream and proposed to my college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, amongst my best friends on the biggest reality show in the country. We are so proud and excited to share this chapter of our story with the world.”

The two have been engaged for a few months now, but just announced their engagement on Instagram before it airs on the show.

Pesce and Sorrentino were college sweethearts. The two dated for four years, when the Jersey Shore was just a tan blip on the horizon of reality TV. After Jersey Shore wrapped up in 2012 the two reconnected and have been together ever since.

Their relationship has had a lot of highs and public lows. Before the final season of Jersey Shore, Sorrentino went to rehab and admitted he had a pill addiction. He was sober the last season of the show. Sorrentino said at the beginning of Family Vacation that he was two years sober, alluding that he had a relapse between 2012 and now.

Sorrentino is also facing some legal issues. He pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion on January 19. Sorrentino’s plea deal delayed his departure to film Family Vacation. He has yet to be sentenced.

These two have stuck together through thick and thin. Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Situation.
