It’s that time of the year again, that’s right MTV Movie & TV Awards are here. You might remember MTV doing strictly doing movie awards but they added TV show awards last year, and it also broke down gender barriers when it comes to their categories. Last year, they announced that they dropped the gender acting categories, meaning that they put all the nominees all in one category, aka equality. Something that the other award shows should try doing. That means that MTV will follow suit from last year when it comes to featuring gender-neutral categories. Remember, it’s definitely a big historic shift for the entertainment industry, and it’s really fantastic movement that everyone should follow.
Everyone who knows that MTV Movie & TV Show awards aren’t about the awards, it’s about the fun that they have on stage and with each other. This year, comedian and Girls Trip break out star, Tiffany Haddish will be hosting the event for the first time. This is huge for her, and I for one, cannot wait to see what she will bring.

Earlier this morning MTV released all of the nominations and let me tell you, they did not disappoint one bit.
For the movie nominations, Black Panther is leading the pack (like it should since it broke a lot of records and its a billion dollar movie) with seven nominations. Keep in mind that this is Ryan Coogler’s second MTV award nomination, his first was Creed back in 2016, which was nominated but never took home the golden popcorn. Hopefully, this will be different this time around, and we will be seeing Black Panther as award seasons will pick back up. Stranger Things scored six nominations for the TV side of things. I know, never tell me the odds, but they have a pretty high chance of winning at least one categories, or part of us wants them to win all of the categories.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards will air on Monday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, and additional categories and honors are set to be announced at a later date. Hopefully, things will be great for everyone.
