John Cena, Nikki Bella’s Heartbreak Over Aborted Wedding

Both John Cena and Nikki Bella shared heartbreaking social media posts on the day their aborted wedding was to have occurred, stunning fans with their statements.

John and Nikki were originally set to say “I do” on May 5 but three weeks ago, the duo announced they had decided to call off their engagement.

In an acknowledgment of the significance of the day, John shared the following quote on Instagram.

“If you choose to keep moving, no matter how low the road takes you, it will eventually begin to climb back up. #NeverGiveUp,” he wrote.

He also posted a close-up image of Day Zero, a book by Kresley Cole about the apocalypse.

The Total Bellas star posted an image of a quote which led fans to believe she was continuing to work through her heartbreak.

The post read “Chin up princess or the crown slips.”

After the couple’s split, John spoke to E! News and revealed that he still loved and missed Nikki.

“Nicole knows I love her and I miss her, but that is what it is. And I’m still here, still going — and I choose to go,” the wrestling star stated.

“When you love somebody, it stings,” he added. “That’s why musicians write about it. That’s why poets write about it.”

People Magazine reported that the couple was at odds over the direction their relationship had taken.

Allegedly, Nikki was stunned when John proposed to her on live TV during WrestleMania 33 in April 2017.

“He never should’ve proposed, let alone in front of millions of people. Now she’s heartbroken,” a source said to the magazine about Nikki’s conflict over the couple’s broken engagement.

“This was supposed to be the happiest time of her life. He ruined it and blew everything up.”
