Kendall Jenner is gracing her first cover of ELLE and talked to Lana Del Rey for her cover story. The interview covered relationships, mental health and of course her uber famous family. Kendall is notoriously the quieter and reserved one in the Kardashian-Jenner family. Her presence on their reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, is fleeting. She is the side dish to the show, while her mom Kris Jenner, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are the main course.
Despite her aloofness on screen, her relationship with her family is strong. “The majority of the time, my family group chat is on sleep mode. I can’t have it on vibrate,” Kendall said. She said that she could get 100 messages in two minutes from her family group message.
Del Rey mentioned that their family is always growing in an emotional way, but Jenner took it as a physical way. “It’s forever growing,” Kendall told ELLE. “Every time I think it’s eased up, someone’s popping out a baby.” Kim, Khloe and Kylie Jenner all welcomed baby girls this year.
When asked about Kylie’s new title as mom Kendall admitted it took some time getting used to. “It’s obviously a bit weird that your little sister is having a baby before you,” she stated. “I didn’t expect it to happen like this. But it’s beautiful.”
Actually, Kylie becoming a mom has helped their relationship and had brought them closer together. Kendall said the two would “butt heads” often, but having Stormi made Kylie soften up and be “more loving” toward Kendall.
Kendall said one of the biggest fights the sisters had was over their friend Haily Baldwin. Kendall said that Baldwin was originally Kylie’s friend. But since she lived in New York City and Kendall was there all the time to model and then Baldwin joined the modeling game, they became super tight. Kylie was mad that Kendall “stole Hailey” from her. Now the trio are all friends.
Kendall is the only one of her siblings who doesn’t have a child.
