Social Media Reacts To Lifetime’s ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance’ Movie

We are less than a week away from the royal wedding between Prince Harry and his Duchess in waiting, Meghan Markle, and the media is abuzz with all things Harry and Meghan leading up to the big day.

Back in 2011 when Harry’s older brother William got married to Kate Middleton, television network, Lifetime joined in on the festivities and came through in the clutch with their own version of the pair’s love story in real Lifetime movie style.

Known for their “eccentric” castings, cheesy and dramatic plots and cliched endings, Lifetime movies have become known for being overly dramatic, comical, tacky and just plain corny.

Be that as it may, since Lifetime gave William and Kate some shine seven years ago, it came as no surprise that the network rolled out the red carpet for the royal family yet again-this time for Prince Harry & Meghan, with their own version of the couple’s fairytale romance with their movie, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.

As with most Lifetime movies, Harry & Meghan did NOT disappoint when it premiered on May 13, and social media had a field day.

Of course on Twitter, fans were incredibly vocal about their thoughts and opinions on the movie and the reactions are priceless.

With Lifetime being known for their cringe-worthy bad casting, fans felt that the network did a pretty good job…

#HarryAndMeghanARoyalRomance What’s with that wig?! The CGI isn’t too bad but that wig ?

Fans were also left scratching their heads when LIfetime made a HUGE change in the movie about their engagement.

Waaait the very public detail, that Harry and Meghan themselves told the world during their engagement interview, was just changed? Everyone knows they got engaged in their kitchen…. #HarryandMeghanARoyalRomance

But weren’t too upset when they saw how it turned out.

#HarryAndMeghanARoyalRomance that is not how they said the proposal went…!!! 😂😂😂😂 Ill take it though…

— KatesFitLifeStyle (@ImKateCrawford) May 14, 2018

So they changed the real proposal which was at their apartment at Kensington Palace while they were cooking chicken dinner. But a proposal in bed in Botswana is more romantic. 😉 #HarryAndMeghanARoyalRomance

Overall, fans loved the Lifetime movie and took it for what it was, a cheesy romantic movie.

Loved the go get your man, dash to the airport, stopping the plane from taking off, reconciliation, and takeoff scene. Classic romance movie sequence. #HarryAndMeghanARoyalRomance
