Social Media Reacts To Lifetime’s ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance’ Movie


We are less than a week away from the royal wedding between Prince Harry and his Duchess in waiting, Meghan Markle, and the media is abuzz with all things Harry and Meghan leading up to the big day.

Back in 2011 when Harry’s older brother William got married to Kate Middleton, television network, Lifetime joined in on the festivities and came through in the clutch with their own version of the pair’s love story in real Lifetime movie style.

Known for their “eccentric” castings, cheesy and dramatic plots and cliched endings, Lifetime movies have become known for being overly dramatic, comical, tacky and just plain corny.

Be that as it may, since Lifetime gave William and Kate some shine seven years ago, it came as no surprise that the network rolled out the red carpet for the royal family yet again-this time for Prince Harry & Meghan, with their own version of the couple’s fairytale romance with their movie, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.

As with most Lifetime movies, Harry & Meghan did NOT disappoint when it premiered on May 13, and social media had a field day.

Of course on Twitter, fans were incredibly vocal about their thoughts and opinions on the movie and the reactions are priceless.

With Lifetime being known for their cringe-worthy bad casting, fans felt that the network did a pretty good job…

…but still needs some work.

Fans were also left scratching their heads when LIfetime made a HUGE change in the movie about their engagement.


But weren’t too upset when they saw how it turned out.

Overall, fans loved the Lifetime movie and took it for what it was, a cheesy romantic movie.

Fans found a new appreciation for Botswana in the process.

Unofficially the reviews are in and there were a few watchers who weren’t here for the movie.

Overall, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance proved to be a Lifetime success.
