May is an important month for a lot of reasons. It’s most likely your last month of school before summer, and Mother’s Day is also celebrated during that time. Another monumental reason? It’s the month that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be married. The couple got both the U.K. and the U.S. talking when they first began dating, and it only escalated after the two became engaged. We’re less than two months away from the big day and naturally, Kensington Palace has been giving us sneak peeks of all the wedding details. This is everything we know so far about the day they’ll say “I do.”
1. The Invitation Cards
The invitations follow many years of Royal tradition and have been made by @BarnardWestwood. They feature the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink. pic.twitter.com/cd7LBmRJxO

Kensington Palace tweeted out a photo of the invitations and they kept it simple and regal. Made by Barnard & Westwood, the cards are emblazoned with the three-feathered badge of the Prince of Wales in gold while the rest of the card is labeled with a curly black script. To symbolize the nationalities of Prince Harry and Meghan, the cards were made with American ink and English paper.

The Palace even included a video of an employee hard at work making the invites. The process sure isn’t like printing an essay at your school’s library.
2. The Date and Time

The official date is set for May 19 and the wedding will begin at noon, followed by a carriage procession through Windsor Town. For you east coasters, tune in at 7 A.M. EST on TV.
3. The Guest List

Meghan and Prince Harry strayed from tradition when it came to the guest list. It was announced that 2,640 people were invited in a way to engage the public. While not everyone gets to see the couple exchange their vows or take part in the reception, a lucky bunch will be able to watch the couple’s arrival and see the carriage procession. A few familiar faces you might see? Michelle and Barack Obama and Victoria and David Beckham were reportedly invited while we might also see Serena Williams, Patrick J. Adams and Margot Robbie among the crowd.
4. The Dress Code

The invitations stated that the dress code is: “Uniform, morning coat or lounge suit, day dress with hat.” There’ll no doubt be no shortage of hats as no one does headpieces better than the Royals.
5. The Service

The service will be held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle which will be followed by the lunch reception, hosted by the Queen, at St. George’s Hall.
6. The Reception

The close-knit reception will take place at the Frogmore House with the Prince of Wales as host.
7. The Dress and Tiara
A Royals’ reporter stated that Meghan already chose her dress in January with the help of her friend, Jessica Mulroney. Only a small group of people know which designer she picked so it looks like we’ll have to wait till the official day to see what she wears.

While it’s been traditional for brides in past Royal weddings to wear tiaras, it hasn’t been confirmed if Meghan will wear one herself. A Royal expert told US Weekly that Meghan “will have access to jewels from the royal collection made available to her by the Queen,” and she may even get to wear the tiara that Princess Diana wore on her big day. It wouldn’t be surprising as Meghan’s engagement ring features two diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection.
8. The Cake

Kensington Palace announced that Claire Ptak, the owner of Violet Bakery, will be in charge of the wedding cake. It’ll be covered in buttercream and garnished with flowers.
9. The Cost
Full statement from @KensingtonRoyal about #princeharry & #meghanmarkle’s wedding next May. The Queen & DoE will obviously be there, as will Meghan’s parents. The Royal Family will pay for the wedding. #RoyalWedding2018 pic.twitter.com/wzDh3wx1lx

If there’s anything that shows that celebs are not just like us, it’s the amount that they’re able to splurge on their weddings. Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding will cost almost a whopping $3 million USD. A released statement reported that the Royal Family will be paying for the wedding’s core aspects, including the service, reception, and decorations.
